Prescription: Prior to treatment, clients are to obtain a prescription for evaluation and treatment.
Evaluation: consists of:
- a comprehensive examination and interview to determine need for therapy and identify specific strengths and deficiencies
- standardized resting
- written report of results
- set goals for improved performance
- recommendations of intensity and duration of treatment
Payment Options: SCT accepts over 150 different insurance carriers, Medicare and Medicaid as well as private pay. Some insurance companies require a prior authorization for treatment.
Schedule Appointments: Appointments are made by calling and speaking with one of our administration staff. SCT is open from7 a.m. -7 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 7: a.m. – 5 p.m. on Friday; and 8 a.m. – 12 noon on Saturday (fall, winter, and spring).
Treatment: Based on your evaluation and scheduling preferences, you or your family member will be assigned to the appropriate speech, physical or occupational therapist to begin your treatment plan. Treatment plans and therapy schedules are tailored to each individual and may be modified or changed, with your input, based on findings and conclusions in your therapy sessions.
Education: Client, families and caregivers are coached on techniques and exercises to integrate therapeutic gains into everyday life.
College students/interns seek out the expertise of our therapists as practitioners of the future. Students are paired with therapists in a one-to-one ratio and work closely under direct supervision.
Home Program Development: A personalized home exercise program extends the benefit of therapy sessions. Therapists work with clients and caregivers to develop a practical exercise program that will target their individual therapy goals.
Home programming is monitored and updated as goals are met or different approaches are necessary.
